Should Exercise Be Fun?

You can dress it up with pumping soundtracks, funky lighting, awesome training partners and motivating challenges but at its core effective (body-changing) exercise is hard work.

Truthfully it is also quite mundane.

That’s ok.

The fun comes later. Want to go for a long hill walk? Hell yeah. Join in a game of social football? Absolutely. Keep up with your family? Too easy. It’s one of the great things about getting in shape. All sorts of physical activities, hobbies and sports become much more fun and appealing.

But the hard work comes first.

And (for most of us) it isn’t always fun.
