Incline Push Ups


Push ups are a great exercise for building strength in your chest, shoulders, arms and core muscles. This variation is great for beginners as it adjusts the leverage of the movement so more weight is shifted to your feet reducing the resistance your muscles must overcome.

Performance Tips

  • Use an elevated surface to perform this movement
  • The more vertical your body the easier the exercise
  • The more horizontal your body the harder the exercise
  • Place your hands directly underneath your shoulders
  • Have your fingers pointing forwards
  • Squeeze your glutes and brace your midsection
  • Externally twist your hands into the ground/surface
  • This helps keep your elbows and shoulders in good alignment
  • Descend down until your chest is an inch from the surface
  • Pause then push back up to the start position
  • Keep your elbows tucked in close to your body
  • Make sure your whole body moves as one single unit
