Horizontal Press


If push ups don't agree with you then the band chest press is a great alternative. A good combination of pushing strength and stability is required to perform this movement. As you push forward with the bands they will push back against you creating an added challenge for the muscles in your torso. 

Performance Tips

  • Adopt a split stance with a tall spine
  • Take a band / handle in each hand
  • Brace your legs and torso to create a solid platform to push from
  • Smoothly push forward with both arms
  • Keep the shoulders packed down and don't lean forwards
  • When you reach the end of range of motion take a brief pause
  • Slowly return the bands to the start position
  • Always maintain good alignment in the rest of your body
