Back in 2007 I remember starting my career on a gym floor in London. 30+ personal trainers vying for business from a limited pool of members.
To stand out from the crowd many trainers (including yours truly) would try to come up with wacky new exercises which would attract and intrigue potential new clients.
Really embarrassing looking back.
Fast forward and the same thing is happening on social media... on a much bigger scale.
And it causes a lot of confusion.
Worse still the majority of these novel exercises are either utterly pointless or totally unsafe.
Please don't get caught up in this trap.
A diet of simple, joint-friendly exercises performed progressively is all you need to build strength and improve your fitness.
In fact if you feel like your workout would look really boring posted on Instagram... you are probably doing exactly the right thing.
