High Intensity Exercise: Train Don’t Strain

You can’t beat good old-fashioned hard work when it comes to effective resistance training.

But hard work should never come at the expense of safety.

Here are some simple tips to keep in mind as you pursue your strength training potential:

  • Use exercises which feel smooth and easy on your joints (discard those that don’t)

  • Use a load/resistance you can move with perfect control

  • Never hold your breath during an exercise

  • Keep your face and neck relaxed at all times

  • Try not to overload your joints in extreme ranges of motion

  • Slow down and maintain good technique on each and every rep

  • Don’t contort your body into awkward positions just to try and beat a previous score

  • Avoid using momentum to complete extra reps

At the end of the day you have to be healthy to make progress... stay safe and don’t let your ego derail your training efforts!
